Photo of Victorian House in Pacific Heights

📍 Project Location

Pacific Heights, San Francisco
3-story Victorian home built in 1904

🔧 Scope of Work

  • Full removal of all knob-and-tube wiring from attic to basement
  • Installation of a new 200-amp electrical panel
  • Grounding & bonding throughout the system
  • Replacement of outlets and switches with code-compliant, modern fixtures
  • Careful routing of new NM-B wiring with minimal wall impact
  • Final testing, code inspection, and walkthrough with the owner

🚧 Challenges on Site

Victorian homes bring unique challenges:

  • High ceilings and elaborate crown moldings limited wall access
  • No crawlspace or attic access on the second floor
  • Required precise fishing of wires behind original plaster and lath walls
  • Tight coordination with inspectors to avoid delays

Despite this, the project was completed on time and with zero visible surface damage.

⚙️ Project Overview

This beautiful turn-of-the-century home had never undergone a full electrical upgrade. The original knob-and-tube wiring was still in place — outdated, ungrounded, and unsafe by today’s standards.

The homeowner contacted us after learning that insurance and inspection reports flagged the wiring as a major concern. Our team was brought in to complete a full rewire while preserving the home’s ornate finishes and historical charm.

✅ Result

The home now features:

  • A modern, grounded, and surge-protected electrical system
  • A 200A panel ready for EV charger and future appliances
  • Peace of mind for both homeowners and future buyers
  • All the work documented for permitting and future resale
